Liza

Liza

Age: Adult

Sex: Female, Spayed

Arrived: June 2011

Liza came to us in rough shape, on June 27th after being found in horrid living conditions. She was vet checked upon arrival and it was discovered that she has a very severe untreatable eye ulcer. Because of this, and because how painful eye ulcers are, she had her eye enucleated (removed) on July 6th. She also came in with urine scald and with an URI which she has been successfully treated for. She was quite skinny when we got her, but is now a perfect weight! She also came in with a litter of babies, which we had to wean from her on July 5th in order to do the surgery on her eye and have her spayed. Liza was spayed by Rabbit Rescue in July 2011. We think she would do well bonded to another rabbit, but is also happy on her own if you can give her lots of love and attention. She is a very sweet little girl. She will come greet you every time you come into the room, will run around your feet seeking for attention and treats! Food makes her very happy, its possible she was denied proper food in her previous home and now gets great pleasure in eating pellet, TONS of hay and greens. She is not picky at all, and loves everything! She is not destructive at all so would be great as a free range bunny. She loves running, hiding in tunnels and spending long afternoons laying by the window. She comes when you call her but she is always expecting a treat in return. She would do ok if there was a dog in the home although you must always take proper precautions with a dog and rabbit nearby. She has a great personality. She is OK with new people, new places, loud noises, etc. She likes going up the stairs, but since she has only one eye, she doesn't feel confident going down the stairs, so she has to be picked up and taken back down. For this same reason she won't jump very high (ie. beds, couches, or furniture in general). She doesn't like to be off the floor, if picked up she won't stay still for too long until she is back on the ground. She is fine on hardwood floor or carpet. She is not aggressive, however, may try to nibble your fingers if they are n front of her and she thinks they are food. She will push your legs, feet, hands if she is hungry, or wants to be petted. She spends most of the day outside her pen, and is quite happy that way. She got a clean bill of health from the vet on Jan. 20th 2012. She is the perfect bunny and is ready and waiting for her perfect home!
