Seirra

Age: Adult

Sex: Female, Spayed

Breed: Holland Lop

Arrived: June 2011

Sierra came in on June 27th along with over 100 other rabbits. She was rescued from a terrible situation. Sierra is a female black lop with super shiny fur! She is being treated for an URI and is such a good girl getting her medicine. She is doing much better on her antibiotics and we expect her to make a full recovery. She seems to have lost a bunch of her fur but it is growing back in now. It does not appear that she was ever able to walk around before coming to our care. She is slowly learning to use her muscles and walk and hop around. She is becoming more interested in her foster mom and will let her pet her and seems to enjoy the attention. UPDATE (Aug 2011) Sierra is still very timid around new people but is warming up to her foster mom. She comes over to greet her foster mom now when she comes into the room and will even sit for a pet. She is hopping around better as she has much more space to stretch her legs. Although she still has a hard time sitting back on her back paws and is not very good at jumping up and can not jump over her pen. She is cautious of new surroundings and goes about very slowly until she feels very secure before checking out the area. Sierra's litter habits are very good and she likes to keep her pen clean. She has a wonderful appetite and gets very exited for her pellets in the morning. She also likes her hay and eats it throughout the day. Sierra enjoys her salad at night of greens such as lettuce, dandy lion, parsley, carrot tops. She also enjoys the occasional treat of banana, apple or plum slice and will take it very gently from your hands. She has not demonstrated any destructive behaviour.
