Patches is looking for a foster home!
Patches is a young bunny who has high hopes for her future, despite a rough beginning to life. She was rescued from poor living conditions in the summer heat waves where she was being kept outdoors 24/7 in a small filthy metal-bottom cage under hot direct sun (the top was covered). She had been receiving a very inadequate diet of dirty wilted iceberg lettuce, lawn grass, and zero hay.
Patches was rescued by a concerned individual who brought her into safety. Once in a home environment, Patches was surprised to finally experience space to stretch out all she wants, do more than one hop, and even binky. She has since been nurtured by her rescuer to grow stronger and more comfortable. She is always over the moon happy and deeply grateful when fresh organic greens, veggies, and herbs are being served. She then runs with her crisp green prize to settle on the perfect safe nook to sit and savour it blissfully. She learned that cleanliness, blankets, and paw-friendly flooring really exist! She learned to use a litter box too.
Patches has moments where she is keen on showing off acrobatics in the form of Spiderman-like leaps straight up to the top of her 2-ft hidey house, only to jump back down once she’s been seen and acknowledged verbally.
She seems hardy and able to adapt to new situations, is no stranger to general household noise, and generally unfazed by cat and dog presence.
She welcomes forehead pats and appears relieved while soaking up the attention. You can tell that underneath her facade of resilience is a softness, a desire to find happiness, and to expand to her full potential. Now she’s inspired to discover what upgrade could be next… perhaps more space, sunshine coming through a window, more human attention to be grateful for!
Patches is not yet spayed or vaccinated but will be upon coming to Rabbit Rescue.
