Cheesecake is looking for a foster home!

Cheesecake is a sweet, friendly, laid back young male who is hopeful and excited to find a foster home!

Cheesecake was rescued from poor living conditions during intense summer heat waves where he was being kept outdoors 24/7 in a small filthy metal-bottom cage under hot direct sun (the top was covered). He had been receiving a very inadequate diet of dirty wilted iceberg lettuce, lawn grass, and zero hay.

He has since grown strong and more confident in the safety of his current home, allowing his gentle affectionate nature to emerge. He was exhilarated to be able to stretch out, hop, binky, be served proper healthy food – fresh hay, fresh organic greens, veggies, and herbs. He loves his healthy treats, and feeling a soft floor under his weary feet. He also welcomed learning how to use a litter box.

Somehow his spirit was not broken by the rough beginnings and he still retains the enthusiasm and hopefulness of youth. He makes you smile when he stands up and does little tippy-toe movements with his back feet alternating in eager anticipation of his approaching salad. Since discovering the existence of normal flooring and cozy blankets, he’s now a regular flopper!

He seems adaptable to new situations and stimuli, perhaps a resilience forged from the hardship of his first year of life. He grew up with a big loud barking dog and not having a proper habitat to escape noise and commotion. He was immediately comfortable with his rescuer’s cats walking by to say hello.

Cheesecake remains optimistic about the next chapter in his journey of life. He would love a better home and set up, maybe even with fresh air coming through a window, and the option of a nice sunbeam!

Cheesecake is not yet neutered or vaccinated but will be upon coming to Rabbit Rescue.
