Hi everybun! It’s me, Ruby!

I came to Rabbit Rescue in late 2024 after spending over a year in a tiny cage. I can’t tell you how good it was to stretch, hop, and explore! It didn’t even take me a week to figure out the litter box, and my current foster mom tells me I have excellent litter habits.

Nowadays, I have an office room as my home base, but I mostly roam the rest of the apartment during the day because my foster mom works from home. I’m almost always close to her – either under her desk while she works or nearby keeping an eye on her. Sometimes I sneak away to nap under the media unit in the living room, but that’s only because it’s sooo nice and cozy there!

I really wish I could be with my foster mom 24/7. When she puts me back into my room at night, I try to make a daring escape through her legs… but no success yet! And when she opens the door in the morning, I’m right there ready to run out.

I love going under furniture and through anything that looks like a tunnel. Bonus points if I can nap under a coffee table, desk, or cabinet. These are some of my favorite spots.

My foster mom says I’m a great companion when it comes to watching movies or listening to music because I never get scared. I just flop down and relax like the chill bunny I am. At night, I like lying next to my foster mom on the couch while she watches TV. She’ll pet me for hours, and I’m in pure bunny heaven.

Now, let’s talk about food (my favorite topic)! I love, love, love hay and I eat it constantly. Foster mom has to refill my hay rack every night. But my absolute favorite thing to eat? Pellets! Oooo I love pellets so much. There were two times when I made a sound like I was choking on a pellet, so my foster mom started adding water to them. Since then, I haven’t had any issues – so please, soak my pellets in water! I also enjoy parsley and dill, and I’ll eat lettuce and other greens too, though I’m not quite as excited about those.

I really love people. Every single one I’ve met so far has become my friend right away. I like following foster mom into any room she goes into, even the bathroom! I’m very curious, so I love to explore any open door, but mostly I just like to be wherever she is. When I want attention, I make sure she knows, usually by going right up to her and giving a big nose boop. I hum or snort when I’m excited, too.

And please don’t forget the pets! I love being scratched on my nose, behind my ears, and on my cheeks. I usually close my eyes and relax completely. But if you stop too soon, don’t worry, I’ll remind you with a gentle nibble or a little nose boop.

I can’t wait to find my forever family. One with lots of time and love to share. I do fine on my own for a few hours, but I really like being part of the action and hanging out with humans. I haven’t met other animals yet, but I adore kind, gentle people (and little humans too!).

Love and nose boops, Ruby
