BigWig says “Thank You!” for helping rabbits just like him. Because of your donation, Rabbit Rescue is able to take in last chance animals; rabbits at high risk of euthanasia at shelters, dumped bunnies, owner surrenders. We also assist with large scale rescue efforts, including hoarding situations, illegal meat farm closures, abuse and neglect cases, and more. We are able to offer rabbits a second chance at life thanks to your generosity and support.

Rabbit Rescue Inc. is a registered charity and you will receive a tax receipt for all donations. Tax receipts may be used for Canadian Income taxes.

Birthdays and special occasions are a wonderful time to gift friends and family something unique. You can sponsor a rabbit through Rabbit Rescue and help give a bun their second chance. We can email you or a person of your choice a personalized certificate with the recipient’s name, and a photo and story of a Rabbit Rescue foster rabbit.

Types of occasions you can request a certificate for:

  • Birthdays
  • In Memory
  • Holidays
  • Easter
  • Weddings
  • Retirement Gift
  • Any other special occasion!

To get your custom certificate, make a donation then email Haviva at haviva@rabbitrescue.ca with the name of the recipient, your custom message (optional), and what email address you would like to certificate sent to.

Volunteer Drivers

Rabbit Rescue occasionally needs volunteer drivers to assist with driving a foster rabbit to the vet, transporting a dumped bunny, or picking up a rabbit from the shelter and bringing them to their foster home. We don’t require drivers often, but when we do its usually a time sensitive situation.

Email haviva@rabbitresue.ca with your city, any driving limits for distance and contact information. If we have a situation that meets your criteria we may contact you to see if you are available.

Bunny Catchers

Rabbit Rescue has teams in over 90 cities to help catch rabbits that are dumped outside. No experience is needed. When we have an alert for a dumped bunny in that city, we will copy you on an email thread with more info, and you would only help if you are available. Supplies that are helpful: nets, netting, sheets, carrier, blankets, rabbit food (banana!), xpens, creative cubes/NICs.

Email haviva@rabbitresue.ca to join a team and indicate which cities you would like to help with.

A Legacy of Love; Helping Animals Beyond Your Lifetime

Every rabbit that comes into Rabbit Rescue has their own story. From the time they arrive in our care until they are adopted, we ensure they get all the care that they need. By leaving Rabbit Rescue a gift in your will, you help ensure that they continue to get what they need, and that we can help as many lives as possible. Even a small gift can help ensure that rabbits are getting the second chance they deserve.

Why

Rabbit Rescue relies on the generosity of individual donors to help keep our rescue running. Receiving no government grants means we work hard fundraising for every dollar. Donations help ensure that the rabbits can get all of the care they need. Not just spays, neuters and vaccines, but emergency vet care after being dumped outside or coming from a shelter who could not offer extensive medical care. Providing a legacy gift means that we can say yes when there are urgent rabbits needing to come into our care. What an incredible gift to rabbits to ensure that your love of animals continues even after you are gone.

How

You can create a will with a lawyer if you do not yet have one.

If you already have a will, a codicil (an amendment) can be added to it.

There are many ways you can help rabbits in your will, depending on what type of gift you would like to leave. Some options include;

  1. Making a bequest of a specific monetary amount
  2. Making a bequest of a specific asset, such as a stock, bond or property
  3. Making a bequest of a specific percentage of your estate
  4. Naming Rabbit Rescue Incorporated as a beneficiary of an asset such as a life insurance policy, RRSP or pension plan.

Your estate will receive a tax receipt for the fair market value of any gift.

Leaving even a small percentage of your estate or donation, can have a huge impact on rabbits in need.

Suggested wording

The legal form for a gift is best detailed by your lawyer. However, if you wish to include a legacy to Rabbit Rescue, the following language may be appropriate:

“To Rabbit Rescue Incorporated (Registered Charity 860959824 RR0001), of Cambridge, Ontario, Canada I bequeath the following ____________, such amount/assets to be used for the general purposes of the organization.”

Please email us with any questions and we would be happy to work with you to ensure your wishes are met so that you can leave a legacy to help rabbits.
