Meet Sam and Dean. Two senior gentlemen who love spending time together, whether it is exploring, playing, or snuggling in for a long afternoon nap.  They are about 8.5 years old, and came to Rabbit Rescue from a very crowded shelter which wasn’t ideal for this gentle, somewhat cautious little pair. They were surrendered to the shelter as their previous owners had a baby and decided they could no longer keep them.  Since arriving at their safe and comfortable foster home, they are gaining confidence and beginning to show their more playful and curious sides.   They have started to show off some excited zoomies and happy binkies, as well as relaxed flops.

Sam and Dean get very excited for food time, running around their foster parent’s feet.  They love pellets and veggies, especially parsley and dill.  They are also good hay eaters, and will hang out in their litter box and happily munch away together.  Their synchronized eating is adorable to witness!

These two boys have the incredibly soft fur. Sam has stunning cinnamon fur and Dean, has a striking combination of chocolate brown and creamy white fur.   Dean, the slightly larger of the two, is a bit bolder and will often be the first to explore new areas.  He is also sweetly protective of Sam and will watch over his little buddy.   Sam has the most adorable “half up – half down” ears.  He has the cutest habit of standing up on his back legs where he looks just like an adorable miniature kangaroo.  One of the cutest things is to watch them mutually grooming each other for extended periods of time and then snuggling very close for a relaxing nap.  When they aren’t napping, they both love to run and play in their tunnels, timothy hay bungalows and cardboard boxes.

They both enjoy being pet if you gently approach them and start with petting their foreheads. After they are comfortable, they will happily settle in for full body pets.

As with many Rex rabbits, they have sensitive feet and moderately sore hocks.  They require soft flooring, like memory foam bath mats or thick, soft area rugs to keep their feet happy.

These two senior bunnies are full of life and deserve a loving forever home to spend the retirement years together!  If you are looking for twice the fun, apply to adopt them today!
