Merlin

Meet adorable eligible bun-chelor, Merlin!

This amazingly sweet boy was originally found as a stray by Pumpkin’s Acres Rabbit Rescue, where he was brought into foster care then adopted into a loving home and bonded to RR alumni Duchess. Due to allergies, Duchess and Merlin were surrendered together to Rabbit Rescue, adopted out, and returned again in June 2023 when their adopter could no longer care for them.

Sadly, Duchess passed away after a short illness in December 2023, and now Merlin is single and looking for love.

There are some bunnies that are meant to be one half of a pair, and Merlin definitely fits that description. While he is enjoying the extra love from his foster family during this transition, he is definitely lonely and would really appreciate a spayed female bun to be bonded to.

Merlin is more socially outgoing, coming over and letting you know when it’s time to give him scratches and pets. He gladly accepts cheek rubs and full body pets. He is a four feet on the floor kind of bun and does not enjoy being picked up. He does the best twirling kick-spins, executing them with Olympic level precision! He has a hidey castle that he loves to climb, flop in and loaf the day away. If he isn’t ruling over his kingdom in his castle, he can usually be found in his flop bed where he likes to rest his dewlap (or dude-lap if you will).

He is mostly indifferent to dogs so would do fine in a home with a calm/patient dog.

His litter box habits are excellent!

Food is the way to his heart! He loves mixed greens, romaine, radicchio, dandelion and the occasional treat of some kale which is easy to see from his frequent green moustaches. He will never say ‘no’ to a nice nibble of fruit (usually banana). Anytime you bestow him with a treat, he will gaze at you adoringly the entire time, and isn’t shy to climb all over you just to make sure you aren’t hiding any extra treats up your sleeve!

It’s time for this magical boy to find his next great love. If you have a bun that would love a friend, please consider Merlin!
